Captain (Retd) Usman Malik

In the role of Company Commander, I commanded and managed over 130 personnel, successfully transforming an underperforming company into the best-performing company of the unit within four months. By implementing rigorous training programs, my troops achieved excellent results in military courses and maintained a zero-disciplinary record. My responsibilities included efficiently managing resources such as rationing, equipment, and training materials.

Served as Adjutant, I oversaw discipline, tactical military training, and the physical and medical fitness of a battalion consisting of over 600 individuals. I played a crucial role in assisting the Commanding Officer in implementing his orders in challenging environments, emphasizing intelligence aspects, and maintaining effective communication with friendly forces. Additionally, I ensured the operational readiness of the entire battalion in terms of personnel, weapons, equipment, and mechanical transport.

In the position of Quarter Master, I supervised troop quartering and movements, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards. My responsibilities extended to managing supply warehouses, maintaining inventory records, and examining damaged or missing items. Quartermaster also serves as a Mechanical Transport Officer, I oversaw vehicle maintenance, and training of drivers, and ensured timely delivery of supplies.

As Platoon Commander, I led a team of 36 individuals in defensive operations in challenging mountainous terrain. My role involved active participation in intelligence-based operations against terrorism. Also ensured the operational readiness of personnel, weapons, and equipment within the spectrum of my platoon. Coordinated with higher headquarters, effectively communicating operational updates and receiving guidance on mission priorities. Developed standard operating procedures for efficient execution of daily duties and mission objectives.

In this role, I led a team of 20 individuals, overseeing their training in challenging specialist areas to ensure preparedness for any situation. I actively led the commando platoon in various minor operations under sub-conventional warfare. The training emphasised multi-role capabilities, enabling the platoon to operate various weapons professionally. Additionally, I led my platoon in the reinforcement of friendly forces when needed, deploying them to forward posts under defensive operations.

As an Intelligence Officer, I served as a staff officer with the Battalion Commander. I assisted in delivering presentations on the battalion’s operational and administrative assignments at higher formations. My responsibilities included the safe custody and regular updating of operational and training maps, maintaining effective communication with friendly forces, and ensuring operational readiness against potential threats.

In this role, I led and supervised 33 personnel on highly confidential projects in the Corps of Signals. My responsibilities included effectively and efficiently managing demanding projects and ensuring the production of desired results. My team, and I, received appreciation from the Director-General for our professional competence and response in the interest of the country.

In this role, I was responsible for handling customer complaints, maintaining deadlines, and upholding the highest standards of service. My effective negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills contributed to the excellence achieved within my roles. These experiences further enhanced my skills in data entry and record-keeping, resulting in impressive results.

At TCS Private Limited, I effectively managed financial accounts and statements. My responsibilities included cash handling, creating, cross-checking, and processing invoices, managing company expenses, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, PCV monitoring, and meticulously checking sales reports for all products. I collaborated with third parties, such as banks, to ensure the deposits of all receivables and oversaw the financial affairs of allied branches.

In my role as a Master Trainer at the Army Brigade and Division level, I provided instruction to all ranks in a variety of military training courses. I organized courses and programs that covered theoretical, technical, and practical aspects, earning praise from the General Officer Commanding for my training and instructional skills. My experience involves planning and conducting training sessions aimed at boosting the capabilities of military personnel across various ranks.
