Title: Onrent.Pk (Nearby Hostel Searching Application)


Main Theme:

The main goal of this project is to develop a hostel searching app called Onrent.pk that helps newly enrolled students in universities, colleges or schools find suitable accommodation near their location or their university/college location. The app also provides hostel owners with a platform to list their hostels and attract more customers.

Onrent.pk allows newly enrolled students in universities, colleges or schools to search for suitable accommodation near their location or their university/college location.

The app also allows hostel owners to list their hostels and provide details about the hostel, which are stored in Firebase Fire store. Users can search for hostels by name or location and chat with hostel owners or other users.


Here are the proposed features of the Onrent.pk:

Authentication:

  • Users can register and login through email, Google, Facebook, or Twitter
  • Firebase authentication will be integrated for secure authentication


Profile Management:

  • Users can edit their profiles, including name, phone number, and address
  • Users can upload a profile picture


Hostel Listing:

  • Hostel owners can list their hostels with details such as name, location, description, and images
  • Hostel owners can edit and delete their listed hostels
  • Hostel listings will be stored in Firebase Fire store


Search:

  • Users can search for hostels by name or location
  • The search algorithm will return relevant search results based on user inputs


Chat:

  • Users can chat with hostel owners or other users
  • All chats will be stored in Firebase Fire store
  • Chat section will be divided into three parts: all chats, user-only chats, and hostel owner-only chats


Administration Portal:

  • An administrative portal will be developed to manage and moderate hostel listings
  • The portal will allow administrators to approve or reject hostel listings and manage reported content


Location Based Service:

  • The app will use the user's location to display nearby hostels on the home screen
  • Users can search for hostels based on their location or university/college location


Objectives of the Project:

  • To provide a user-friendly interface for searching hostels by location, name, or other relevant criteria.
  • To enable users to create and manage their profiles, including adding information about their preferences, requirements.
