Efficient implementation of company's policies and procedures.
Being 2nd in command of the vessel in absence of Master.
Carrying out bridge and navigational watchkeeping duties at sea.
Responsible for familiarization and effective training (Safety / Security) of crew members on board.
Preparation of Cargo stowage, handling plans and safe execution of same, in compliance with Charterer's instructions.
Monitoring of vessel's stability, stresses and structural conditions through out the intended voyage (weather at sea or in port) in compliance with international regulations and company's safety management system.
Operation and control of all Cargo and Ballast equipment including Cargo, Ballast pumps, Inerting system, Stripping system.
In-charge of deck department, assigning and monitoring jobs to deck officers and ratings.
Following planned maintenance system to ensure all vessel equipments are fully functional and operational in accordance with company's safety management system, vessel class and international legislations.
Up-keep of records and documentation in compliance with company's S.M.S.
Responsible for safety of crew, vessel, cargo, property and environment (Safety Officer on board).
Accident investigation officer on board.
Upkeep of LSA, FFA and SOPEP equipment and to ensure their operational readiness in compliance with international legislations.
Ensuring watertight and weather tight integrity of the vessel at all times as per international legislations and class requirement.
Ensuring operational readiness, calibration and up keep of all gas measuring equipment (fixed and portable).
Inspection of cargo, ballast tanks, void spaces in compliance with company S.M.S to ensure structural stability of vessel (Preparation of detailed report after each such inspection).
Maintaining adequate inventory and regular inspection of all mooring equipment, lifting appliances and means of access on board.
Preparation of vessel defect reports and suggesting repair requirements for same.
Preparing vessel for dry docking, followed by tank cleaning and gas freeing.
Monitoring and ensuring safe execution of all deck based jobs in dry dock.
Liaising with dry dock staff to complete all repair jobs in safe manner and in timely fashion.
Have successfully passed various Sire vetting inspections by various Oil Majors.
Have successfully gone through P.S.C inspections under various M.O.Us around the globe.
Have successfully passed various Flag state inspections.
Have successfully passed various Class inspections / surveys.
Have achieved target of Zero accidents (Human injury / Loss) consecutively for last 4 years.
Have completed all cargo operations in time and without any claims from charterer's or 3rd parties (consecutively for last 4 years).
Have successfully completed Dry dock under my supervision in 2022 at Zhoushan, without any accident or loss time injury.
Have participated in safe completion of dry docking and repairs in 2014 and 2015 at Bahrain and Oman, respectively.
Fire fighting, Life boat, First Aid, Medical Care, Bridge team management, ECDIS (Transas and JRC), Radar, ARPA, Radio communication, GMDSS, Liquid cargo handling, ISM, ISPS, Shipboard safety officer, Ship security officer, Personal safety and Oil tankers handling (Advanced).
