  • SMEDA-ERKF-World bank-MDTF, Peshawar Pakistan SMEDA (www.smeda.org) Project Unit "ERKF"(Economic Revitalization for KPK & FATA) funded by Multi Donor Trust fund (MDTF) under the administration of World Bank.
  • The Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) project ‘Economic Revitalization of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA)’ is a joint initiative for both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA to provide support to the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), attract Diaspora investment, and strengthen institutional capacities to foster investment and implement regulatory reforms.
  • The project is a response to the priority interventions identified under the donor-supported Post Crisis Needs Assessment (PCNA) Report.
  • The MDTF for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Balochistan was established to support the recommendations made in the PCNA report, and is being administered by the World Bank on behalf of 10 donors.
  • Major Responsibilities.
  • Assist senior management in the formation of SME development strategy in the agency assigned & settled area, including where to focus program resources, as well as how to address programmatic challenges.
  • Serve as point of contact for SME development issues at the agency & settled level and actively develop and maintain positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders in both areas, including but not limited to all government departments and representatives, community and tribal leaders, chambers, local organizations and other partners.
  • Conduct regular visits to project sites for M&E as well as gather feedback from the grant beneficiary SME’s.
  • Monitor & report on project implementation based on the programme objectives & Coordinate project/programme task with respect to monitoring & evaluation of activities with the concern authorities.
  • Assists in implementation of management information system (MIS) at the concern level to provide information on the project’s progress, effectiveness and efficiency of the process of construction and rehabilitation, up gradation & capacity building of SME’s.
  • Ensure that M&E data is readily available, as appropriate to the ERKF management & other concern department & stakeholders, particularly on impact & lessons learnt from Project activities.
  • Prepare (GAR) Grant assessment report to ensure implementation at field level.
  • Verifying the information provided by the SME’s by visiting the business site, evaluating the documentary proofs.
  • Validating the Business Revitalization Plan provided by the SME in coordination with technical experts.
  • Presentation of the assessed SME’s cases to GTC (Grant Technical Committee)/DRC (Documents Review Committee) & GRMC (Grant Review and Monitoring Committee).
  • Educating SMEs about the project.
  • Liaison with grantees for compliance.
  • Completing the check list for environmental impact (Green/Brown Sector).
  • Monitoring social & environmental impacts of the sub project.
  • Other duties as required.
