As a Tax manager(20-25 hours per week) my major job responsibilities include:
INCOME TAX PREPARATION & REVIEW
- Complete ~150 1120 tax returns
- 25% of these are very straightforward, easy, first or second-year filings.
- 25% have a 5471
- 25% of these have an M3
- Research & development workpapers preparation
CONSULTING TAX WORK
- Help troubleshoot Account Manager client tax issues. Answer questions and resolve clients’ tax problems. Resolve any IRS notices or audit requests
- Assist in all M&A transactions: gather documents, serve as senior liaison to Big 4/acquirer

As Indirect Tax Specialist(40 hours per week) I am responsible for timely and accurate preparation of all VAT/GST & sales and use tax returns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Management and Development:
Take responsibility for subordinates' activities. Effectively delegate work to staff & manage 8 directly reporting Managers/Supervisors.
Develop team processes and systems to improve the productivity and growth of the business.
Provide regular performance feedback as well as deliver timely performance evaluations.
Develop subordinates' technical and industry skills and encourage growth.

Recruitment:
Establish and maintain a social presence in the community. Actively participate in industry, alumni, and community networking events.
Network with individuals from other organizations in order to share ideas, collect information, and identify potential talent for the Firm.
Maintain an active contact list to include previous employment contacts, college alumni & associations.
Take responsibility for identifying, attracting, and developing current and future talent.
Project/Task Management:
Accept responsibility for, and complete tasks assigned by management in a timely fashion.
Make effective use of firm resources to complete a project.
Manage multiple client projects at any given time.
Alert management in a timely fashion of any issues, constraints, challenges, and/or scheduling conflicts that may arise in completing the assigned task(s).
Accounting & Tax Consulting:
Ensure an accurate and timely quarterly and year-end close of 300+ companies.
Lead GL team in monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews that provide insight into key business drivers that are impacting financial results.
Draft tax technical memorandums.
Perform tax structuring and modeling.
