Nadir Shafi Dar

I joined Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority in 1992 and gained multi-disciplinary experience of working across the organization. My experience of 32 years include working on Senior Executive positions for last 14 years including 3.5 years as Deputy Director General.

• Successfully conducted ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) in June 2024. Effective Implementation of Pakistan increased from 70.39 % in 2021 to 84.84 % in 2024.
• ICAO issued significant safety concerns to Pakistan in 2020 and restricted from conducting exams and issuance of pilot licences. I spearheaded PCAA team to undergo comprehensive ICAO audit in December 2021 and passed the audit as well as resolved ICAO safety concerns (March 2022)
• Successful commencement of aircrew examinations through UK CAAi (2022)
• Confidence building with European Commission and UK Aviation Authorities (2021-24)
• Restructuring and transformation of Regulatory Division (Dec 2020 – todate)
• Turned around Islamabad Airport project which was going through cost & time overruns (2016 – 2018)
• Steered expansion projects at Peshawar, Faisalabad & Quetta to handle increased traffic (2016 - 2018)
• Successfully concluded Implementation Agreement with China for New Gawadar Intl’ Airport (2016-2017)
• Achieved ISO certification for major Airports (2013 – 2015)
• Lead role in Change Management and Restructuring of CAA (2007-08)
• Lead role in execution and hand over of Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore (1998 – 2003)
