I recently started my Job . My day Starts to fulfill the task given by Head of Department . Following are the responsibilities as a Demonstrator in Physiology Department : -
Teaching physiology to students from different courses like medicine and physiotherapy. o Conducting practicals and tutorials and facilitating group discussions for learning.
o Participating in the development of examination questions and assignments.
o Invigilating examinations, marking assignments, examinations and OSCEs.
o Acting as a mentor to facilitate active independent learning of students with the help of senior faculty.
o Coordinating with all teaching staff to liaise and display weekly schedule (lectures, tutorials, lab classes) for MBBS students and Doctor of Physiotherapy Students.
o Maintaining progress cards for students and helping students in grasping difficult concepts.
I worked in Intensive care Unit ( ICU ).My Responsibilities includes :
-Patient assessment and discuss management of critically ill Patients with Consultant
- Ordered Investigation such as Blood Tests and Imaging etc - Collaborating with multidisciplinary team including nurses and other health care professional to ensure patient care .

Following were my responsibilities .
-Medical Emergency Management.

- General Medicine Unit - 1 (3 months)

This was my First Rotation of House job (equivalent to FY1) I worked in General Medicine unit - 1 for 3 months. During my first rotation (FY1), I worked in the General Medicine department. It was an important time for me when I learned a lot about different medical conditions and improved my skills in dealing with patients, managing tasks, and working with others. This rotation involved working in the Medical Ward, the Emergency Department (A&E), and the Medical Outpatient Department.
MEDICAL WARD RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Taking the patient's history, performing relevant examination formulating a provisional management plan, and then discussing it with the consultant
2. Attending ward rounds, presenting cases to the consultant, and noting down round orders.
3. Following the orders from the round, including:
a) Foley's catheterizations b) IV cannulations c) Arterial blood gas (ABG) samplings d) ECG recordings e) Venous blood samplings. 4. Documentation of patients' records.
5. Making discharge summaries and referrals.
6. Prescribing medicine after discussing it with the seniors.
7. Attend ward meetings and discuss the cases.
8. Performing procedures such as IV cannulation, venipuncture, ABGs, NG intubation, urinary catheterizations, and lumbar puncture. 9. Listening to the complaints of admitted patients and prescribing medications after discussing them with my seniors.
EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (A&E):
1. Assessing patient under senior guidance with Acute conditions like: a) Acute Coronary Syndrome b) Acute Exacerbation of asthma & COPD c) Stroke d) Sepsis e) DKA f) Acute renal failure g) Upper GI Bleed h) Poison intake
2. Conducting initial medical assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations.
3. Ordering investigations as per senior guidance such as blood work, imaging studies, and ECG.
4. Initiating emergency treatments including resuscitation efforts, CPR, and stabilization of critically ill patients.
5. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, consultants, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated patient care.
6. Administrating medications under appropriate supervision and guidance.
7. Monitoring and reassessing patients' conditions.
8. Communicating with patients, and their families to provide updates on medical conditions and treatment plans.
OUTPATIENT UNIT:
1. Conducting assessments of patients, including histories, and performing physical examinations under supervision.
2. Conducting follow-up appointments to monitor patients' progress I Learned to carrying out clinical procedure under Supervision : - Endotracheal Intubation. -Lumbar puncture. -CPR protocols. -Ascitic Tap Under all aseptic measures.
This was my second rotation as a House officer (FY1) in Pediatrics Department I worked for 3 months in:
-NEONATAL NURSERY AND PEDIARTRICS ICU
My Responsibilities are to assess newborn with my seniors and monitor their vitals hourly and Ordered Blood investigation according to management plan initiated by Consultant . - Follow blood reports of the patients .
PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY In emergency department as a House officer (FY1) I assess patient under my senior guidance such as children with Febrile fits , dehydrated children's and other virally illness related children's.
I also Attended calls from Gynecology department to asses and receive newborn babies with senior fellows. A part from that I Saw variety of patients IN PEDIATRIC WARD Admitted having conditions like Epilepsy , Nephrotic syndrome , Meningitis, and certain OPD Patients and discuss with seniors about there management.
This was my Third rotation as House officer (FY1) in Surgical department I worked for 3 months .
During my tenure in General Surgery, I gained extensive experience in various clinical settings, including the Surgical Ward, A&E, Operation Theatre, and Surgical Outpatient Department. Responsibilities encompassed patient assessment, assisting in surgeries, managing post-operative care, and outpatient consultations.
Surgery Ward Responsibilities: Patient assessment, history taking, and formulating management plans with my seniors. -Participating in ward rounds, presenting cases, and executing round orders. -Performing small procedures, clerking, making drug charts, and monitoring vitals. -Arranging imaging scans, referrals, discharge summaries, and counseling attendants.
Pre-Op Preparations: - Conducted pre-op assessments, investigations, and ensured patient fitness for surgery/anesthesia during long calls.
Post-Op Patient Care: - Provided comprehensive post-operative care, including pain management, dressing changes, and drain handling.
Surgical Emergency Department (A&E):
- Utilized the ABCDE approach for prompt assessment and management of surgical emergencies under supervision. - Requested diagnostic tests, managed samples, and supported junior staff. - Assisted in various emergencies with Seniors like appendicitis, trauma, bowel obstruction, etc. - Ensured compliance with hospital rules, patient privacy, and accurate record-keeping.
Operation Theatre: - Observed and assisted in surgeries, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Attended to patients in the recovery room and conducted post-op ward rounds with seniors . Provided post-op wound care and counseling for home wound management.
I also got a chance to Assisted in a variety of surgeries including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, etc.
Surgical Outpatient Department:
- Conducted detailed histories, examinations.
- Managed minor surgical ailments, follow-ups, and patient referrals after discuss with seniors .
Post-Experience Skills:
- Proficient in wound debridement, sterile dressing, and skin suturing. - Capable of managing dressings, drains under senior supervision. - Skilled in performing per-rectal examinations. This was my Fourth Rotation in Otorhinolaryngology Department (ENT) I Worked for 3 months in Emergency Department and Out Door patient Department .
In Emergency Department :
- I was Able to Manage and discuss management of following patients with my seniors :
- Epistaxis.
-Removal of Foreign body.
In ward I carried out order of consultant that are necessary for surgery including blood sampling and Imaging . I also manage post operative patients with my seniors like such as removal of dressing from nose after surgery . I also observe procedures such as -Tonsillectomy.

Recently done with Basic Life Support ( BLS ) in the month Of APRIL 2024
And Schedule for ACLS in the first week of month of June 2024
