Senior Executive Maintenance (Electrical) is the leading position of Electrical Section of Fertilizer Plant with annual urea production of 0.85 M Tons. Working at this position. I am leading a team of 30+ personnel including Electrical Engineers and technicians. I am responsible for;

• Responsible for Electrical jobs, planning, coordination, execution and monitoring.
• Maintenance of high voltage, switchgears, circuit breakers, vacuum type, SF6 type, oil type, air type etc. Panel, bus bars, high voltage jointing/terminations, vacuum contactor etc.
• Maintenance of low voltage switchgears, breakers, contactor, relays, variable speed drives AC/DC, fire alarm system, DC power system, battery banks, uninterruptible power supply system etc.
• Testing & calibration of protection system for generator, motors, transformer, feeders etc.
• Functioning of Electrical Section to achieve its own objectives and objectives set by organization
• Keeping track of maintenance plans and their fine tuning to achieve reliable operation of equipment maintained by unit
• Budgeting for major and routine activities and monitoring to ensure economical maintenance within allocated budget
• Safe working of teams to avoid any harm to them or any damage to equipment. Review of any safety incidents and recommending steps to avoid recurrence
• Technical review of important activities performed by section
• Human resource development of Section. Identification of training need for engineers and technicians, arrange technical, professional & management foreign courses, local courses, in-house training program, merit rating for carrier development.
• Evaluation of performance of officers and staff working in Electrical Section
• Evaluation of skills and performance of Management Trainees and Apprentice Technicians and recommending them for hiring based on these evaluations
• Participating in induction of new employees for Section
• Monitoring of major maintenance activities of Section and to provide technical assistance to teams where required
• Planning and review of jobs for shutdowns and turnarounds. This is very important activity to ensure trouble free operation of Plant in period between two turnarounds.
• Planning major equipment replacements foreseen in next 5 to 10 year time
• Review of procurement of spares to ensure availability while maintaining optimum inventory levels
• Overall supervision of Electrical jobs during plant shutdown, turnaround and emergency shutdown
• Keeping track of other miscellaneous tasks assigned to Section to achieve desired results
• Worked within applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines to promote safe working environment.
• Used critical thinking to break down problems, evaluate solutions and make decisions.
• Participated in continuous improvement by generating suggestions, engaging in problem-solving activities to support teamwork.
• Managed team of employees, overseeing hiring, training, and professional growth of employees.
• Proved successful working within tight deadlines and fast-paced atmosphere.

• Lead projects and analyzed data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Major Electrical Projects / Maintenance Jobs:

• Onsite Stator rewinding of two 31 MVA General Electric make Generators. Job includes asbestos containment formation, old bars removal, core testing, new bars installation, brazing / tapping of end loops, final qualification testing. Project Cost: PKR 600 Millions
• Installation / commissioning of ABB make Medium Voltage Motor Control Center with ABB REM relays configuration. Project Cost PKR: 150 Millions
• Level-3 testing of 31 MVA General Electric make Generator. Testing included physical inspection and tests on stator winding insulation, stator core, wedge mapping, rotor winding testing, UT of rotor retaining rings, etc. Generator rotor was removed and cleaning of stator and rotor was performed including re-varnishing of stator windings. Team of professionals was engaged for this comprehensive testing job.
• Procurement / inspection , installation and commissioning of Schneider MCSET Medium Voltage Switchgear comprising of 15 panels including Generator incomers, Bus couplers, Transformer feeders and Motor feeders. Project Cost PKR: 200 Millions
• Installation and commissioning of Siemens Substation Automation System using AK1703ACP and TM 1703 Hardware. Project Cost : PKR 50 Millions
• Installation / commissioning of GE Generator Management Relay G-60 at 8 MV Generator. Job includes protection values transformations, relay configuration, testing, wiring, commissioning.
• Testing of Microprocessor based and Electromechanical relays using OMICRON relay test.
• Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Reliability Availability and Maintainability (RAM) training and designing of RCM and RAM of CO2 compressor train
• Installation and commissioning of Siemens SIROTEC Relays at Motor and Transformer Feeders
• Installation and commissioning of Schneider SEPAM Relays at Motor and Transformer and Generator Feeders
• Engineering, Procurement, Installation and commissioning of 2.3 MW 6.3KV Electrical Motor for Gas Compressor driver.
