- The day typically started early, often before sunrise. Arriving at the plant, I would first review the production targets and schedules for the day. Understanding the raw materials available, any pending maintenance issues, and safety protocols was crucial. After a brief meeting with the previous shift to discuss ongoing operations, I would gear up with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) – hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, and steel-toed boots – before heading to the Raw Mill section.
- Once at the Raw Mill, my first task was to conduct a visual inspection of the machinery. This involved checking for any signs of wear, leaks, or abnormalities that could affect operations or safety. Routine maintenance tasks such as greasing bearings, checking conveyor belts, and inspecting hydraulic systems were carried out diligently. Any issues discovered were reported to the maintenance team for immediate attention.

- Upon arriving at the control room, I inspected the DCS panels, monitoring systems, and auxiliary equipment related to the roller mill. This included checking the condition of rollers, bearings, lubrication systems, and safety interlocks. I initiated the equipment following established start-up procedures, ensuring all safety measures were in place before proceeding.
- Once the limestone roller mill was operational, my primary responsibility was monitoring and controlling the various parameters influencing the grinding process. Using the DCS interface, I adjusted roller pressure, feed rate, and mill speed settings to optimize performance while maintaining product quality.
