Work History

Deputy Chief Engineer

Center of Excellence for Science and Technologies (CESAT)
Islamabad, Pakistan
04.2002 - Current
  • Real time automation test and control system design and its implementation over NI compact RIO based controller
  • Geo-referencing and ortho-rectification of satellite images and extracting geographic information from them
  • Implementation of Image processing algorithms including Edge detection, Image filtering and geometrical transformation
  • Optimization of these algorithms for the fixed point DSP
  • Programming Xilinx Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) in Slave Serial mode using C6414 DSP and hence obtaining run time hardware re-configurability
  • Interfacing Xilinx FPGAs to TI C6414 DSP Platform using the optimal setting for External Memory Interface (EMIF) of DSP and hence real time video transfer over 48 frames per second between Camera link Interface implemented over FPGA and External Memory (SDRAM) using Enhanced Direct Memory Access (EDMA) controller of TI DSP
  • Path Planning system design and implementation for autonomous vehicle in geodetic canvas
  • The system generates multiple routes in real time, satisfying the given constraints and also avoids obstacles that are present in the path
  • Secure Communication Module (SCM) system design to communicate over a secure network and serial port
  • The system uses H.263 video and GSM Full Rate audio codec to compress video and audio data respectively
  • The system is also capable of handling text and file data

Visiting Faculty Member
