- 1. Admit patients requiring special care, history and examinations to
diagnose their medical conditions, carry out specific procedures such as
IV cannulation, NG tube insertion, catheterization and arterial blood gas
sampling.
2. Recording notes and prepare paperwork, both as a legal record of
treatment and for the benefit of other colleagues.
3. Monitoring and providing general care to patients that have presented in
emergency such as myocardial infarction, acute exacerbation of asthma
or COPD, acute gastroenteritis, poisoning, DKA, stroke, road traffic
accidents under supervision by senior medical staff.
4. Daily ward morning meetings after consultant ward round, case
discussion and weekly case presentation.
