I am done my final year project (FYP) which is focuses on investigating the mechanical properties of fibrous mortar incorporating waste materials such as waste marble powder (WMP) and waste foundry sand (WFS). In this study, WFS is used as a partial replacement for natural sand at a 30% replacement level, while WMP is substituted for cement at 15% and 20%. Additionally, coconut fiber is introduced at varying percentages of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2% to enhance the mortar’s mechanical behavior. The research aims to evaluate key performance parameters, including strength, durability, and water absorption, to determine the feasibility of utilizing these waste materials in sustainable construction practices. The results will provide insights into the potential of WMP and WFS in improving mortar properties while reducing environmental impact.
