Hajira Tahir

With over 30 years of teaching and research experience at the university level in Pakistan, I have held positions ranging from lecturer to professor. Expertise spans Physical Chemistry, Thermodynamics, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, and Nanochemistry. Honored with University Best Teacher Award in 2023. Supervised numerous PhD and research scholars to successful completion. Dedicated chemistry professor aiming to foster a supportive learning environment for students to thrive and achieve academic and professional goals in the field of chemistry.

I taught Ph.D, M.Phil, MSc, and BS, ADS level courses. Moreover I have experience to taught O-level students.

As a subject expert, nominated by Sindh HEC for CIEC-MEG-III inspection team in different universities. Worked as head examiner in different affiliated colleges for BS and ADS programs. I also worked as a subject expert in the physical Chemistry .

I was also awarded the University Best Teacher Award 2023 by the University of Karachi. I conducted research and have more than thirty years of experience. I supervised more than 20 PhD students and 15 research scholars to obtain their PhD degrees. About 35 scholars completed M.Phil. and were awarded degrees. Furthermore, 50 research students completed their MSC thesis work.

Regarding research work, about 92 published research papers, including three books, three chapters, and three patents, were filed. The administrative experience included working at the position of chairperson at the University of Karachi from 2019 to 2022 for the three-year period. I also serve as the head of the physical science section from 2009 to 2025. Moreover, I also served in the position of acting Dean Faculty of sciences. I also have experience teaching graduate, postgraduate, and O and A level students.

As a chemistry professor, my objective is to assist students in gaining the abilities, knowledge, and confidence they need to pursue their academic and career aspirations in the discipline of chemistry. My goal is to establish a welcoming and inclusive learning atmosphere where each student feels appreciated and has the opportunity to realize their own potential.
