  • Worked as House Officer in the Department of Medicine and Surgery (including extended 'On Call' (36 hours) duties 2-3 times a week in each department) at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, (PIMS) Islamabad in following departments:
  • General Medicine. As part of House job/ internship, I learnt how to take a thorough history of patients, perform a detailed examination, make relevant differentials and devise a comprehensive plan in terms of investigations and treatment.
  • I also attended daily morning/ evening rounds, OPD and A & E.
  • General Surgery. In General Surgery, I was trained to perform examination and make differentials for surgical patients.
  • I attended case presentations in ward rounds and morning meetings.
  • I also used to observe and manage surgical elective cases and emergencies like acute abdomen, intestinal obstruction, cholecystectomy, anal fissures and diabetic foot.
