Accomplishments
- Written thesis as FYP on topic: "Preparation of Biodiesel from Jatropha cucus plant; Its design and simulation on ASPEN Hysys"Successfully prepared Bio-diesel from jatropha curcus Plant seeds' oil in the laboratory through the esterification process. An undesired amount of free fatty acids (FFA) were present along with the triglycerides(TG) of Oil. Which were reduced to 23% through the titration process. Later the TG was converted to (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) FAME through the transesterification process. After the preparation of Methyl ester (Bio-diesel) multiple tests were also performed including cloud point, pour point, fire point, and flash point. Along with the major product, Glycerin was also recovered as a by-product of the process. Also visited and witnessed the working of a pilot-scale plant of bio-diesel located at Pakistan state Oil (PSO) KTC, Karachi.
