  • Successfully screen Cotton Strains on the basis of Cry1AC expression and transfer gene into a high yielding cotton strain through back crosses
  • Successfully design experiment to check the boll warm attack on selected high yielding Bt cotton strains
  • Successfully checked the impact of Chewing insect (Army warm) in introduced Bollgard-II cotton strain
  • By providing the natural environment made selections on the basis of highly resistant against on chewing insect and utilize this selecting material for the development of high yielding cotton varieties
  • This continues process and still in progress
  • Performed experiments to ensure the resistance against Glyphosate in material contains Round Up Ready Gene (RR gene)
  • The resistant plants were tagged and purification is still in process
  • Developed a gene pool having high Staple Length with low micronaire on the basis of series inter varietal crosses and selections
  • Worked on CLCuD (Virus) Tolerant material and also induced it on high yielding stains
  • This experiment was conducted in a highly CLCuD affected areas of Pakistan like Multan and Vehari districts
  • Developed cotton hybrid on the basis of two line system first time in Pakistan on commercial basis
  • Designed the experiments to check the adaptability performance of ten selected hybrids in ten different locations in cotton belt of Punjab and Sindh province
  • The best commercial varieties (MNH-886 & TARZAN-1) were used as a standard checks
  • Finally two hybrids were selected by getting average of three year performance on the parameters like seed cotton yield CLCuD tolerance, heat tolerance, bolls size and Cry1AC expression
  • The Roundup Ready and Bollgard-II genes were transferred in the parents of two selected hybrids
  • The hybrids seed production was started from these transgenic parents were started
