Reliance Hospital is a tertiary care hospital with 24/7 emergency with a back up of state of the art operation theatre complex, surgical and medical ICU, dialysis center.Our Emergency Department has 24/7 consultant coverage across medical, surgical, gynaecology, and paediatrics units.

• Assessing and preparing patients for surgery, including taking detailed surgical histories and performing relevant physical examinations
• Assisting in surgical procedures under the supervision of senior surgeons, including appendectomies, hernia repairs, incision and drainage, and wound debridement.
• Post-operative care, including monitoring vitals, managing surgical wounds, reviewing lab and imaging results, and updating treatment plans.
• Ordering and following up on relevant investigations for surgical patients
• Discussing patient management with senior colleagues and consultants for ongoing care and discharge planning
• Maintaining surgical charts and documentation, including operative notes and daily progress records
• Performing routine procedures, such as: Nasogastric intubation, Urinary catheterisation, IV cannulation, Arterial blood sampling, Wound suturing and dressing, Removal of surgical drains, Assisting in resuscitation when required

My internship (FY1 equivalent) experience was in one of the leading tertiary care hospitals where I learned to work under pressure, prioritize and provide good clinical care. Our hospital manages clinical care on similar clinical guidelines as the NICE and NHS and I have gained experience under UK & US trained Consultants. I learned the importance of patient centered care, being a safe junior doctor, working with integrity within the limits of my competence, asking for senior help readily and prioritizing my tasks according to their importance.
