Understanding how people learn and react to STEM concepts can help develop more effective methods for developing STEM communities and helping more adults succeed in progressive communities. Communities can contribute to DBER research to help educators develop more effective teaching practices and curricula that address the challenges of equity and inclusion in STEM education. This experience would be invaluable in helping the author develop the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference in the world.
