  • Basic concept of OLPC is to enable children learn how to learn and think on their own with the help of a low-cost, rugged, self-learning, laptop that was light, weather, shock and water proof.
  • OLPC can be charged with electricity where available, solar panels or hand held winder.
  • Devised strategies for deploying OLPC or the XO-laptops in the region for adoption by countries in the region in accordance with specific needs; to launch OLPC as educational project which is the result of 40 years of research by MIT professors based on constructionist theory; and to.
  • Originally developed in English language, I specifically localized OLPC for use in Pakistan and Afghanistan because most children cannot use English these countries.
  • The languages included Urdu for Pakistani children and Pashto and Dari for children in Afghanistan.
