  • Established & Organized first ever HSEQ Dept. in post privatized K – Electric, the only integrated power utility in Pakistan with core units of business – generation, transmission, distribution networks with over 11000+ employees, developed first HSEQ Manual as a primary guideline with subsequent procedures issued from time to time to be rolled out across all operational area of the company.
  • Conducted First party “Fire & Safety Risk assessment survey of Generation, Transmission & Distribution Assets” and negotiated successfully the insurance cover with M/S AON. For K-Electric.
  • Conducted jointly “Grid Safety audit and Assets Assessments” in pre-privatization phase of the K-Electric along with third party auditors M/S O&M Solution Ltd.
  • Conducted jointly “Risk Engineering Survey” across the K-Electric, along with M/S O&M Solution.
  • Prepared, developed system and Achieved WWF - Green Office certification for K - Electric Three power plants in one go, Ran Awareness Sessions on WWF – Green Office Initiatives, Conducted Gap Analysis Audit simultaneously, mentored day to day Green office practices, developed Documents / System, and got WWF - Green Office Certification in record 03 months.
  • Partnered and Worked with M/S ECTECH., an Environmental Consultancy firm, to conduct joint Environmental Audit of All Power Plants of the K-Electric company to establish compliance status in pre-privatization phase of the company, a condition imposed by Privatization commission of Pakistan.
  • Designed First time Safety Leader Award criteria (SLA), started annual audits across K - Electric on criteria to decide the Business Unit (BU) leader of Safety with higher score of leading indicators across KE, Appreciated winning BU’s & Field Teams for displaying commitments to pursue excellence in occupational health & safety and complying IFI’S Performance standards in their daily operational practices.
  • Organized & conducted 10 days Audits across K – Electric to make K -Electric a free organization of Persistence Organic Pollutant (POP) & Primary Pollutant - Asbestos (which is directly released into the atmosphere) under IFC / ADB Performance Standards & Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants 2001, all PCB Transformers & Old Corrugated Asbestos sheets across all K -Electric facilities located across 6000 sq Km were removed under the supervision of SEPA certified Hazardous Waste Contractors.
  • Partnered & worked with M/S ECOCONSERV., an Egyptian Environmental Consultancy firm, to conduct joint Environmental Audit of Transmission & Distribution assets based on IFC performance standards and Protocols at K-Electric.
  • First time conducted 2nd Party Audit of Generation & Transmission Supply Chain contractor and Supplier on a standard criteria to evaluate their HSE management system, Standards, capabilities and quality for Asbestos, SF6, PCB, Environmental Monitoring, EMF, Noise, Light Intensity, Environmental Studies (SEIA/ IEE), Hazardous Material Handling and Disposal practices, availability of Laboratory & testing Equipment and available competent humanresources.
  • Got Environmental Protection Agency (Regulator) clearances / NOC of 900 MW RLNG operated Bin Qasim Power Station III project complex, clubbing up its 02 grid stations & 03 substations in one SEIA (A total of 06 Power Generation & Transmission projects) in one go, successfully conducting community consultations and public hearing and saving around 30 million of the company in separate studies & public hearing expenses.
  • Exceptionally accomplished ISO 9000-2008 certification project of K – Electric’s 20 Integrated Bussines Center’s and BU Transmission depts. PID/GSM/LDC/Transmission/SCADA in record short time of 06 months in one go, Conducted QMS awareness sessions, carried out Gap Analysis, across all facilities, gap analysis, developed QMS manual and procedures, summaries, analysis and achieved final third party QMS certifications for all facilities.
  • First time Designed & Developed robust EPC Contractor EHS Management Plan (Contractor SHSE Project Requirements) combining DuPont & IFI’s performance standards requirement and made integral part of K - Electric Contract / Tender document as schedule IV of all G&T Projects bid documents.
  • Prepared “Basic safety Orientation Book”, as a course material, for Trainee Engineers, Switch Board operators and management trainees at K-Electric.
  • Prepared “Tool Box Talk Manual” for all activities / Business operations across the K-Electric company.
  • Conducted inspection & Hydrostatic test of tube bundle (LP heater) in USA at Struthers industries INC MISSISSIPPI.
  • Worked with ITT / AC Pump (USA) expert for the installation, erection and commissioning of Circulating Water Pumps.
  • Assisted twice to GE-experts for the general overhauling of steam turbine.
  • Worked with Hitachi – Japan experts for general overhauling and installation work of Circulating Water Pump, Boiler Feed Pump and Condensate Pump.
  • Carried out complete technical inspection of re-heater coils (Lower Half) made locally for unit # 4 KTPS at Heavy Mechanical Complex Taxilla.
  • Independently scheduled, monitored and technically supervised the complete dismantling of economizer and reheat section of boiler at unit # 4 KTPS. The job was locally completed first time at the station.
  • Supervised and managed installation of re-heater (Lower half) section of boiler at unit # 3 KTPS.
  • A special task of rehabilitation work for damaged lagging and insulation of air / flue gas duct, steam / water pipes and bellows at unit # 3&4 were carried out. Old Insulating materials from abandoned unit # 2 were removed with skill and care and were utilized at unit # 3 & 4. We did achieve saving in procurement cost of material and Heat Energy at unit # 3 & 4 by this laborious task.
  • A special task of identifying, removing and dismantling the useful and healthy coils of super heater at abandoned unit # 2 was carried out successfully. This task was planned and completed with tact & hard work, beyond normal working hours, for future use of these coils at unit # 1.
