Currently I am serving as an Additional Commissioner in one of the field offices of FBR called the Regional Tax Office II, at Karachi. I am serving at grade 19 and have 13 years of experience in field work. My current assignment entails a supervisory role over 12 field officers. I supervise Tax Audit, Enforcement and other outreach functions such as creating awareness on tax laws whether for broadening of existing tax base or for the newly launched "Tajir Dost Scheme".
I have liaised with other local departments for exchange of information on finding new taxpayers as well as collaborated with trade associations to encourage businesses to become compliant with tax laws. Besides the above I have also performed outreach to universities and schools to educate young citizens about tax compliance being a civic duty.
My job involves public dealing as I frequently interact with taxpayers, tax professionals, advocates of high courts, and senior tax administrators. These interactions have not only honed my expertise in tax administration but have also fostered
strong relationships within the professional community. I actively participate in conferences, workshops, and meetings focused on improving tax administration further and staying up to date with the latest developments in the field.
I have volunteered for tax awareness drives aimed at the general public and trade bodies. I have served as a panel member on the implementation of the Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010 and in doing so I have demonstrated my commitment in ensuring an inclusive and safe work environment. I have also represented my zone at Regional level for evaluation of performance allowances/rewards of officers ensuring fairness in evaluations.
Furthermore, I always seek to create opportunity to engage with young officers, offering mentorship and guidance based on my knowledge and experiences. It is my firm belief that empowering emerging professionals and cultivating a network of leaders is crucial for Pakistan's progress.
