Ali Faisal

I am currently a sophomore at LUMS. I am an aspiring management consultant. Recently i took a free online course about consulting from crafting cases which stimulated my interest in the field. In my projects at university I have been involved in market research of LUMSx a digital learning platform. I gave a full market overview for the platform and proposed a marketing strategy. Likewise, I worked with SadaPay and researched about their organizational culture and presented a comprehensive report on my findings. Furthermore, I worked on optimizing Akin Foods Private Limiteds supply chain. Through an excel model I was able to break down their retailers into regions and make a model that calculated the shortest path of their supply chain. Lastly, I took part in the casing competition hosted by LUMS Consultancy Group in which we had to solve a case pertaining to Interloop one of the largest textile exporting companies of Pakistan. This casing competition exposed me to modern techniques of solving a business case. I want to further explore this field and evolve myself as a consultant.

After securing straight As in my O levels I was able to receive a 100% merit scholarship at the Froebel's International College and also received a gold medal from The Science School: the institute I did O-levels from. Moreover, I was also selected for a course about Chinese culture and Language and was hosted by Beijing Linguistic and cultural University. The tour helped me understand the Chinese industrial development and their culture. Moreover, I was also a volunteer at the Pakistan Red Crescent Society which for me is a moral accomplishment.

• Chess: A dedicated chess player, I find enjoyment and mental stimulation in the strategic challenges this game offers. It has honed my critical thinking skills and taught me valuable lessons in decision-making and foresight.
• Football: As an avid football enthusiast, I appreciate the camaraderie and excitement that comes with following the sport. Whether cheering from the stands or watching matches at home, I value the teamwork and dedication exemplified by athletes on the field.
• Fitness: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is integral to my routine, and I prioritize physical fitness through regular exercise at the gym. Engaging in activities such as weightlifting, cardio, and group classes not only keeps me physically fit but also contributes to my overall well-being and productivity.
• Self-Help Books and Podcasts: I have a keen interest in personal development and actively seek out knowledge through reading self-help literature and listening to informative podcasts. These resources provide valuable insights and strategies for continual self-improvement, enhancing both my personal and professional growth.
