  • Assessing patients for initial and follow-up appointments, including referrals from smaller units. Taking detailed histories, performing clinical examinations, and formulating differential diagnoses. Requesting basic and specific investigations to establish a diagnosis and implement management plans.
  • Handling challenging cases with guidance from senior colleagues and arranging admissions when necessary.
  • Reviewing patients responses to treatment during follow-ups, ensuring medication adherence, monitoring for side effects, and adjusting treatments accordingly.

  • Monitoring admitted patients, assessing vitals, and adjusting treatment plans when necessary.
  • Participating in daily morning ward rounds, sending and following up on investigation reports, and documenting daily progress.
  • Writing prescriptions, discharge summaries, and clinical notes.

  • Inserting nasogastric tubes and urinary bladder catheters.
  • Establishing intravenous lines and managing cardiac arrest cases.
  • Treating poisoning cases and managing trauma patients.
  • Administrative Duties
  • Collecting and reporting data on infectious and communicable diseases through the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response System(IDSRS).
  • Actively participating in the malaria control program by identifying, screening, and isolating malaria patients.
  • Experience Highlights
  • This role has provided me with invaluable exposure to a diverse range of medical cases and administrative responsibilities. It has honed my clinical skills, decision-making abilities, and teamwork.   • Worked in Accidents & Emergency department to gain knowledge in emergency medicine.
  • Moreover, I have performed duties in general ward, and private rooms, where my responsibilities were to take care of postoperative patients.
  • My duties and responsibilities were:-
  • B) Continuous monitoring and assessment of critically ill patients.
  • C) Writing patients notes, clerkship, documenting procedures, and writing discharge notes.d) Daily morning, and evening ward rounds with Consultants, following investigations reports ordered by the consultants.
  • During this time, I also had the opportunity to perform the following procedures:-a) Cannulationb) Cardiopulmonary resuscitationc) Venipunctured) Blood transfusionse) Insertion of male bladder catheterf) NG Tube placement
  • I have attended to acute cases, ranging from Acute exacerbation of asthma, hypoglycemic shock, substance abuse, anaphylaxis. I also attended Pediatric, Obstetrics, and Gynecological emergencies. I have taken important decisions, and managed acutely unwell patients with the help of seniors guidance.
  • To sum up, the time I spent in the AMC provided me with valuable skills of handling workload and pressure, as most of the time, I had to work under pressure. It also provided me with an opportunity to perform different practical procedures and enhanced my clinical management skills.

  • I have completed 12-month of Foundation Year One Training/Internship in Saidu Group of Teaching Hospitals Swat. It's a Government-run Tertiary Care 500 bedded Teaching hospital that provides specialist healthcare facilities to the whole of Malakand division and the Northern regions of KPK, Pakistan.
  • I have worked under supervision this entire period of time and actively participated in the ward activities like case presentations, refresher lectures, and clinical skills workshops and conferences. My rotations were in the departments/wards of:

  • 2) General Surgery - 03 Months
  • 3) Paediatrics and Neonatology - 03 Months
